Thousands of bananas washed up on two Dutch North Sea islands on Wednesday after at least six containers fell off a cargo ship in a storm and one burst open, a local official said.

A half-mile stretch of beach on Terschelling island, 70 miles north of Amsterdam, was littered with bunches of unripe fruit, Buren said. Bananas also washed up on neighboring Ameland island.

The island now has enough bananas to see it through Christmas.

Ms. Mau’s hair lies like a python on her shoulders. When she dropped it down, the hair swept the ground. Looking from behind, the hair looks like a small papoose, swinging after each move of the woman.

For the past 17 years, Phung Thi Mau in Chua village, Van Thang commune, Ba Vi district, northern province of Ha Tay, has carried hair of 5kg in weight and more than 1.5m in length.

She has planned to cut it several times but each time she planned to do that, her head began to hurt painfully, like someone tightened a rope around her head.

The odd story about this hair commenced on the night of December 15, 1990 (lunar calendar). That night, she couldn’t sleep well.

In the morning on the next day, she combed her hair normally but it was strange because it was no longer smooth as before. It was very tangled. The more combing, the more tangled the hair was. The comb’s teeth were broken after her try to comb the hair. Ms. Mau used another comb but the situation was the same. She found that her hair was stuck together for a section of around 22cm long. In the morning on the next day, all of her hair was stuck together and she couldn’t disentangle it anymore.

When the hair began to clot, Ms. Mau always heard a crackling sound from her hair, which was sometimes low and sometimes high, depending on her health.

She still washes her hair on her own. However, each time of washing the special hair, Mau needs several hours to struggle with it, with one hour to make it clean and one-two hours to make it dry, using a large electric fan.

A Chinese man has driven his pick-up truck more than 200 metres on two steel cables 20 metres high.

It took Liu Suozhu of Korla city, Xinjiang, 15 minutes to drive from one hill to another on the twin tightrope wires.

"I just wanted to do something special," he told the Tianshan Network.

As a safety precaution, the four corners of the truck were attached by four thinner cables to the two main cables.

A medium who claimed that he had been possessed by the Monkey God sat in a covered wok of boiling water and withstood the steam-filled environment for 45 minutes.

By the time the extra-tall lid of the wok was removed, the five frozen whole chickens which had been placed in the wok had already been thoroughly cooked. However, not only was the medium unhurt, he even expressed his dissatisfaction in Hokkien, saying that his master had opened the lid too early. The 300 believers who witnessed the sight were amazed.

The event (which took place in Ipoh) was officiated by Grandmaster Qingshui from Bahau. He was accompanied by two disciples – Xia Fuan and Xia Fulai. It was 52-year-old Xia Fuan who had sat inside the covered wok of boiling water, braving the scalding steam for 45 minutes.

Qingshui said that this skill could be taught to outsiders and even girls. However, to date he has only taught it to the 2 brothers Xia Fuan and Xia Fulai.

A man was caught Tuesday morning inside a car with his pants down.Police said Kim Leblanc broke into a parked car overnight on Central Parkway, and the owner found him asleep inside and called police.

Officers said Leblanc was not wearing any pants when they arrived.

Investigators said Leblanc told them he had done drugs and believed that a leprechaun had let him into the car.

Leblanc remains in police custody on a variety of charges.

Doctors in India have removed a 3-inch toothbrush lodged inside the nose of a 31-year old woman, a local paper reported.

The report said that the housewife went to a hospital in Mumbai two months ago suffering from severe pain.

During a CT scan, doctors were shocked to find the broken toothbrush prompting them to order an immediate surgery.

"I was brushing my teeth, my husband accidentally pushed me and the toothbrush in my hand broke,"| said the woman. "I was left holding the lower portion of the brush but couldn't locate the rest of it."

"Soon after, I started bleeding profusely from the nose," she added. "But since that day, I began getting breathless and a foul-smelling discharge began to come out of my nose."

"The odor from her nose was so bad that it could be smelt from a distance of two feet," said Kaushal Sheth, the doctor who performed the surgery. "If the object had fallen into her windpipe, she could have choked to death."
